"KochiKame Jump" Released

Weekly Shōnen Jump released yesterday (August 16, 2016) a special "KochiKame Jump" issue
celebrating the 40th anniversary of the series.

The issue includes tribute illustrations (referred as "Congratulation! Series' 40 Anniversary Special Contribution") by various manga artists, which were published in earlier Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine issues this year, a Higurashi (A police officer who only works one day every four years, coinciding with the Olympic games, and does nothing but sleep even then) poster, a collaborative KochiKame poster featuring artwork by Hirohiko Araki of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Masanori Morita of Rokudenashi Blues, Ei'ichiro Oda of One Piece, Masashi Kishimoto of Naruto, Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro of Toriko, Mizuki Kawashita of Strawberry 100%, and Yusei Matsui of Assassination Classroom.

KochiKame's creator, Osamu Akimoto, has created new color illustrations and a new story specifically for "KochiKame Jump." This anniversary issue also includes a variety of information about KochiKame, making it into a fan handbook for the series. It is priced at 500 yen, or US $4.91.
